倝 contains 昜


Trying to read a bit Chinese about 倝 in Chi (p. 539), got stuck on 昜. Surely it's not 容易の易. No, there is an extra stroke 一. Wait, it's yang from yin and yang isn't it!

Er, no. It's the phonetic in yang from yin and yang: 陰陽の陽.

Still, 易 on its own seems familiar. Oooh, The Book of Changes: 易経 ek'kyou.

Wait, wait, I forgot the extra 一 again. 容易の易 and 易経の易 are the same graph. It's the phonetic in 陰陽の陽 remember!

The sinogram 倝 first seen in the Warring States [period], has [the signific] 昜 and phonetic 㫃.
